MANAGING DIRECTOR, FOREST ETHICS

Responsible for the day-to-day management of an international forest campaigning organization.
Including oversight of finance, operations, communications, corporate engagement, organizing, campaigns and strategy departments.
Acted as senior negotiator with corporations regarding their wood and wood product procurement and climate practices.
Developed strategic campaigns, which address the urgency of climate change through the lens of forest protection.

September 2001-June 2006
Led policy work on Liberia’s conflict timber and natural resource extraction. Lobbied United Nations Security Council, as well as US State Department and other international development agencies to secure sanctions on conflict timber in Liberia.
Project Manager for several campaign projects including strategic planning processes for international campaigns, and large legal campaigns.
Acted as management consultant on multiple in-house projects such as: producer on Public Service Announcement project, maintained relationships with celebrity outreach program, conducted organizational effectiveness audits, led strategic planning process with senior management team, wrote internal campaign planning process, created and led organizational training modules, led special projects such as creation of education program.
Wrote grants and reporting also responsible for maintaining relationships with funders and foundations.

1996-2001
Collaborated with small team to open the first International office for Proxicom, Inc. Managed all projects in the office and the assigned project team. Adapted project processes to fit cultural needs and developed training for international employees on corporate culture and processes. Lived and worked for one year then transitioned office to local managers.
Established Programme Management Office including all project processes for multimillion-dollar project and transitioned to a multi-discipline management team to run. Interviewed and hired local staff members to augment expatriates with the intent to establish local office.
Managed and developed all Project Managers in UK office (24 employees). Served on senior management team, which was responsible for managing operations of 120 people. Responsible for integrating teams from multiple countries and companies to provide cutting edge solutions for top tier client base in Europe.
